Augusta F. (McGonigal) Shaw, age 91, a lifelong resident of Jamestown, passed away at home on Thursday, July 9, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late John C. Shaw, and a daughter of the late Joseph T. and Frances E. (Hull) McGonigal.
Mrs. Shaw worked as a housekeeper at the Ladd School in Exeter for many years before retiring.
She was the beloved mother of John Shaw (wife, Susan), and Susan Luther Shaw; mother-in-law of Joseph Pemantell; grandmother of Joey Pemantell and Thomas Shaw, Sr.; great-grandmother of Victoria, Ashley, and Thomas Shaw, Jr.; and great-great-grandmother of Stephen Shaw Sherman.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Shaw was predeceased by her daughter, Donna Pemantell and son-in-law, Nelson Luther.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Cedar Cemetery in Jamestown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Pet Refuge, 500 Stony Lane, North Kingstown, RI 02852 will be appreciated.
