Obituary

Christie “Chris” J. Drago, III, 68 of North Kingstown, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by is loving family. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Hill) Drago for 48 wonderful years.

A seasoned pilot and aviation enthusiast, Chris served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he was employed as an aircraft mechanic in the aviation industry and was the proud owner of Chris Aircraft where he worked for the remainder of his life, finally retiring the day he passed away. Chris was also a member of the Pilot’s Breakfast Club. He loved to tinker and enjoyed his antique cars.

Chris was the loving father of Heather D. Corson (Thomas Hannon) and Andrew C. Drago (Angela Silvia) with whom he worked alongside for many years; devoted grandfather of Isabel Corson; step-grandfather of Jonathan Hannon, Benjamin Hannon, and Cailynn DeFreitas; caring brother of Joseph Drago, Theresa Drago, Anne Marie Drago, and Paul Drago. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A private committal service with military funeral honors will take place in the RI Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
