Daniel Christopher Cavanaugh, 69, passed away on Sunday, December 8th, 2019 at his residence in West Hartford, CT. He was born on May 28th, 1950 in Nanty-Glo, PA to Thomas and Rita Cavanaugh.
His love of the ocean and sailing brought him to Rhode Island in 1974, where he later founded Accurate Litho, serving as president for nearly 30 years. You could always find Dan on a basketball court, from his younger days playing when and wherever he could, to coaching his sons’ youth teams, and running the annual youth summer league at McGinn Park for nearly 10 years. His loyalty to the Pittsburgh Steelers while living in New England territory never wavered and was fortunate enough to attend countless Steelers games including a Super Bowl.
He is survived by his former wife Judith, their sons, Kyle, Neil, Daniel and Zachary, as well as Zachary’s wife Amanda. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation Friday, December 13th, 2019 from 4-6 PM at the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, RI with a service to follow at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Stroke Association at www.stroke.org.
