Gordon W. Bentley, 96, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Roberts) Bentley for 71 years. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Norman F. and Ethel I. (Curtis) Bentley. Mr. Bentley was a machinist for the Gillette Safety Razor Co. of Boston for 18 years before retiring in 1977. He was a WWII army veteran serving in the European Theatre and lived in Chepachet since 1977 before moving to North Smithfield in 2012. Besides his wife, he was the father of Paula M. Richard and her husband Marshall of Burrillville, Gordon W. Bentley of Smithfield and Norman L. Bentley of Woonsocket. He was the brother of the late Norman F. Bentley and Bertha M. Bruyere.
Visitation Friday, July 14, 2017 from 1-3pm with a service to follow at 3pm in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike (Rt.44) Greenville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Disabled American Veterans Association, Dept. of R.I., 1 Capitol Hill-Level G, Providence, RI 02908 will be appreciated.
