Michael D. Marra, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2020. He was born in Providence, the son of the late Rocco P. and Carmella (DeFusco) Marra.
Mr. Marra was a teacher in the North Providence school system for several years and went on to become a culinary professor at Johnson and Wales University before retiring.
Mr. Marra was a proud member of the American Culinary Federation. He was a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and Operation Stand Down.
He was kind-hearted and loved by all who knew him. Mr. Marra lived in Smithfield for over 50 years before moving to Providence. He was the brother of the late Elaine J. Marra and is survived by many
cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends, in accordance with seating capacity limits, social distancing guidelines and other public health directives (i.e., use of masks), are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Philip
Church, 622 Putnam Ave., Greenville, Monday, June 22, 2020 at 9:30AM.
Inurnment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers donations to, Hope Health Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
