Obituary

William V.A. Waldron, 71 died Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from complications of COVID-19. Born in Taunton, MA, he was a son of the late T. Van A. and Lenore Hurth Waldron. Bill graduated from Holderness School and cherished his time at Union College. Bill honorably served his country from 1973 to 1979 as a medic in the Army National Reserves. He most recently worked for Conestoga Wood Specialties as their sales representative.

Bill’s greatest passion was sailing and his greatest joy was sharing sailing with his loved ones and friends. He was an expert sailor, a certified captain and member of the Quonset Davisville Naval Yacht Club. He was also a self-taught, meticulous craftsman and woodworker. He designed and implemented extensive renovations on his North Kingstown house and at family homes in Mattapoisett, MA. Bill created a lasting bond with his family and friends with his light-heartedness and humor, his generosity and willingness to help at a moment’s notice, and his warm attention to their well-being.

He was loved deeply and is survived by his life partner Kathleen Naughton, his son, Matthew S. Waldron, daughter Jennifer C. Waldron, his partner Kathleen’s two children, Aidan and Ellen Naughton. He is also survived by his siblings Peter K. Waldron, Jeffrey H. Waldron, Lenore L. Waldron, Gail N. Waldron, and his former wife Ellen S. Waldron.
